There are several ways to change notes order or parent:
- Using keyboard shortcuts;
- Using mouse drag'n'drop;
The tree must have a keyboard focus to make the following shortcuts work:
- Ctrl+Up, Ctrl+Down - move current note up or down in the same level (in other words, swap current note with previous or with next). You can also use these shortcuts to reorder opened notebooks, select the notebook (top item in tree) and press Ctrl+Up or Ctrl+Down to swap current notebook with previous or with next one.
- Ctrl+Left - make current note a 'brother' (or 'sister') or previous note instead of being its child.
- Ctrl+Right - make current note a child or previous note.
The mouse is more useful for arranging and reordering notes in tree. Just drag the note to another note an drop it. There are several different behaviors of drag'n'drop process depends on keyboard state:
- No keys are pressed - note becomes a child of target note;
- Alt is pressed - note is moved to place after target note on the same level;
- Ctrl is pressed - a copy of current note and all subnotes becomes a child of target note;
- Ctrl+Alt is pressed - a copy of current note and all subnotes is placed after target note on the same level;
- Ctrl+Shift is pressed - a copy of current note without subnotes becomes a child of target note;
- Ctrl+Alt+Shift is pressed - a copy of current note without subnotes is placed after target note on the same level;
How to drag'n'drop notes.
First select the note you want to move, then hold down left mouse button ('take') and move it to destination note (while moving do not unhold left mouse button and you will see the mouse cursor changed), and unhold left mouse button on the destination note ('drop'). |
